Post-Graduate Residency
Torpedo Factory Art CenterAlexandria, VA
During this residency, I referenced the map created by Dr. Krystyn R. Moon and her students at the University of Mary Washington using census records and city directories of Chinese hand laundries in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia between 1900-1949.
I walked to each pin marked on the map, photographing the approximate sites, (there were about 38 unique addresses listed in the data.)
